Hanging around...

I'm pretty fond of these prints by John W. Golden, who works with digital art reproducing traditional styles and methods. His art is bold, colorful and would certainly look nice hung on a modern wall...

Do spend some time on his shop at etsy here and on his blog here!

Tweet - Feedback!

Hey! Take a look at this nice "tweet-review" I found about my blog!

"Design bonitinho.. bem europeu... feminino, delicado e porque não dizer frugal.. http://yellohippo.blogspot.com/ :)"

Which could be freely translated as "Cute design...very european (hey! I'm Brazilian!!!)... feminine, delicate and why not to say frugal.. =)

Sweet! Thanks, Luiz!
Check out his tweets (in Portuguese) right here!

Styling job!

I've done some house and interior design styling jobs for Ana Maria magazine in Brazil, from Editora Abril publisher. Here are some cute (and not expensive!) wallpapers and wall stickers for your house... lovely, ain't them?

Tees!!

I ran into this very interesting business idea yesterday: Tweets on Tees prints crowd-picked tweets on T-shirts like this one and sells them on the net. To make their business even more trendy, people who post the elected phrases get awarded 500 bucks. Not a bad deal, huh?

Birds on branches...

Some cute hand drawn illustration birds from Deadpan Alley's Shop at Etsy. Her illustrations are drawn on old book pages, creating a certain vintage look. Simple and lovely.

Sweet little bags!

I found these cute little bags from Linda at Dawanda.
They come from Norway... aren't they just lovely?

My birds!

So I finally got some time to post some pics of my first sewn birds, with a little personal touch: a lace.
The key here is finding the right contrasting fabrics to create your bird.
I'm so in love with making them (it is so easy to sew!) that we'll probably be seeing much of them in the next few weeks...

Sewing!

I've had an old sewing machine at home for years and we believed it was about time to send it to the repair shop and make it brand new again. And we did it this week.

Now I've been busy trying to find out interesting craftsy projects to use it, and just ran into these lovely fabric birds from Spool (free pattern here). I'm just finishing my first one!

Bohemian Living

I wasn't able to utter a word when I saw these: unbeliavably lovely, hippie-chic antique Gypsy Caravans completely restaured, ready-to-dream on!!!
In the heat of Provence, the work is mainly done by Jeanne Bayol and her husband, who make and restore caravans using techniques dating back to the beginning of the century. Their work can be found at Les Verdines, where they also sell some craft items.

I want one of those bohemian wandering homes so badly!!

Easter is comming...

I must confess I was getting quite bored with Easter eggs in the past years, but this one from Anusha, a lovely chocolate patisserie in São Paulo, Brazil, really caught my eye. It's a chocolate + lemon grass egg!

Now, what I'm fond of at Anusha is this cozy parisian café looks alongside their well-brewed coffee and nice bites to eat. A great place to spend hours drinking a cup of tea and sharing stories with your loved one. Highly recommended!

Urban Barroque

Dawanda has some wonderful handmade fashion accessoires such as this silk-screened barroque-inspired chandelier scarf and golden owl printed one. Both of them are from Pretty Raccoon's Toronto based shop.
Besides those, she still has lovely tops and totes on her site... I just wanna have them all...!!

Schön!

To make my new fish company I was browsing through some handmade craft pieces at Dawanda.
I found this beautiful rubberstamp handprinted card from Stuttgart based Tinee Häcker's shop named Sieben Morgen available here.
I just couldn't help posting some more of her lovely handmade illustration cards and collages!

Sea inspired

Remember an old post of mine on crochet sea creatures?

I just found on Etsy these lovely clay sea and fungus inspired pieces designed by Heather Knight from elementclaystudio. Such beautiful work! It must take her days to make a single piece!
