Easter is comming...

I must confess I was getting quite bored with Easter eggs in the past years, but this one from Anusha, a lovely chocolate patisserie in São Paulo, Brazil, really caught my eye. It's a chocolate + lemon grass egg!

Now, what I'm fond of at Anusha is this cozy parisian café looks alongside their well-brewed coffee and nice bites to eat. A great place to spend hours drinking a cup of tea and sharing stories with your loved one. Highly recommended!

Urban Barroque

Dawanda has some wonderful handmade fashion accessoires such as this silk-screened barroque-inspired chandelier scarf and golden owl printed one. Both of them are from Pretty Raccoon's Toronto based shop.
Besides those, she still has lovely tops and totes on her site... I just wanna have them all...!!

Sea inspired

Remember an old post of mine on crochet sea creatures?

I just found on Etsy these lovely clay sea and fungus inspired pieces designed by Heather Knight from elementclaystudio. Such beautiful work! It must take her days to make a single piece!

Ceramic

A couple of years ago I've been to this incredible ceramic exibith here in Brazil at Museu da Casa Brasileira. Alongside with the exibith there was also a lecture and discussion over Máximo Soalheiro's work, which is made of pieces of ceramic stamped with metal types, the same ones which were early used to create prints.

His work is so poetic, although the mixture of typography, ceramic and tiles has such strenght! He has also developed some printed material, most of it based on the use of these printing metal types. Types such as blank pieces are seen from a different point of view, creating a truly innovative and artistic work.

I find it particulary interesting that his view on how handicraft and digital technologies is that they don't come from worlds apart; actually, his whole work affirms the opposite. Graphic arts and ceramics have roots in common. Specially in the hands of a masterful artist. Soalheiro has also a site, with lots of pictures of his work. Take a look right here!

These have to be the cutest water bottles ever...
Earthlust designs a series of stainless steel bottles so that you may "never have to use a plastic bottle anymore". Very earth-friendly and sustainable!

Sale!

Now, what can be better than finding great design for really great prices? I was browsing through Flowie and found some lovely bags for half price.

Not only that, though: take a look at the fabrics and tea towels as well. I just need all of them!

Somewhat Folk

Ever heard of Mallu Magalhães? This 16-year old girl is now one of the new names in folk music in Brazil.
I actually didn't like many of her songs, but give her a chance and check out this one: Tchubaruba.

pearlfisher

Ever heard of pearlfisher? This British agency designed some outstanding brand logos and developed graphic design, strategy and brand identity for some well-known brands, such as Jamie Oliver and This Water.

I loved these designs! They are so simple and yet show sheer brand passion and integration with their customers. Lovely labels as well!

Carpets!

I couldn't say I'm a carpet lover, but these two pieces are really something... I found these carpets and rugs at Madeline Weinrib Atelier, a nice place to browse something new for your house. I find specially charming the way she uses indian motifs on the rugs, making them almost ethnical.

She has also nice pillows, with lovely design and modern fabric patterns. Take a look!
